Gin Gin, a stopover point on the Highway from Brisbane to Cairns. The town is located approx. 350km north of Brisbane and 50km west of Bundaberg.

The Gin Gin area was originally settled by Europeans in 1847 when Gregory Blaxland and William Forster moved into the area.

Steeped in history, the Shire is rich in natural attractions, such as pristine watercourses, magnificent mountain views and peaceful bushland. These coupled with genuine rural hospitality make Gin Gin an ideal place to spend a night or two!!

The town is also regarded as the north-western entrance to the Bundaberg region, providing visitors with the option to head towards the "cosmopolitan" provincial capital of Bundaberg and the seaside villages of the Coral Coast or along the Highway to the cultural haven of Childers and other nearby towns.
